Professional apps like Photoshop, Premiere, Cinebench etc., will use as many as available. Games usually use 2-6 cores (rarely 8-12 cores). Keep in mind that it depends a lot on the applications that you are using and how they are written. For example, on my machine, an AMD Quad-Core: If you click on the multiple option, again, in theory, it will manually adjust the usage based on your preferences, 1/2/3/4/5.etc cores, depending on your core count and will try to force use all cores selected for all opened processes. If you check it and leave it like that, it will use, in theory, only one core for your processes (background applications). If you leave it unchecked Windows will handle this option automatically and it will adjust the core usage based on your usage and Windows's needs for optimal experience. If it's checked on 1 core it means the PC uses 1 core and if it's unchecked it means it uses all cores?ĭepends on your processor.
